Island does not have any reef area, hence there were no corals as well as associated fauna recorded. Among the marine invertebrates which prefer muddy habitat were recorded here are, 8 species of crabs, 4 species of prawns, 3 species of barnacles, 6 species of gastropods and 14 species of bivalve. Jackal, domestic dogs, cats, viper, crate etc were recorded in this island. 15 species of avifauna recorded here.
Kyu Island

A total of 52 species, belonging to 48 genera and 30 families were recorded. Among the scrubs species, Eurphobia nivulia, Grewia tenax, Prosopis chilensis were recorded. The associated species like Barleria prionitis, Alysicarpus sp., Indigofera cordifolia, Enicostema hyssopifolia, C. nvolvulus, Cressa cretica, justicia, lepidogathis and Boerhavia verticillata. In the saline land species, Aeluropus lagopoides, Urochondra setulosa and Cressa cretica abundant. In the climbers, Cocculus pendulus, Clitoria ternatea, Rhynchosia minima, Pentatropis capensis, Rivea hypocrateriformis, Dalechampia Scandens, Asparagus racemosa and Ephedra foliate were recorded.

Threats to the Island:
Encroachment by the nearby salt industries, human activities in the form of cattle grazing and cutting of trees for firewood as well as fodder.
