No. of Animals recorded/estimated (List):
18 green algae, 15 red and 24 brown algae and 2 species of sea grass species were recorded. The common green algae were Caulerpa racemosa, C. taxiformis, Chaetomorpha indica, Codium dwarkense, Halimeda macroloba, H, tuna, Ulva lactuca and Enteromorpha intestinalis. The commonly recorded red algae were Actinotrichia fragilis, Dictyota altromaria, Ectocarpus sp., Padina gymnospora and Sargassum polycystum. Among the brown algae, the common species were Acanthophora delilei, Coelarthum opuntio, Gracellaria corticata, Halymenia verusota and Hypnea cervicornis were recorded. The only sea grass species recorded here is Thalassia sp. A total of 20 species of corals were recorded, among them 2 were soft corals. Commonly occuring hard coral species were Montipora monasteriata, M. explanata, Porites lutea, P. compressa, Favia speciosa, F. favus, Favites flexuosa and Turbinaria crates. The soft corals recorded here were Subergorgia sp. and Echinogorgia sp. Among the marine invertebrates, 14 species of sponges, 1 species of hydrozoans, 1 species of bryozoans, 3 species of sea anemones, 1 species of jelly fish, 2 species of zoantharians, 4 species of prawn, 2 species of flatworms, 3 species of tube worms, 1 species of shrimp, 12 species of crabs, 3 species of barnacles, 82 species of gastropods, 34 species of bivalve, 1 species of cephalopods, 2 species of nudibranchs and 1 species of echinoderms. Supports verity of reef fishes and supports 32 species of avifauna.
Dhani Reef
No. of Plants/macroalgae recorded/estimated (List):
Mangrove species (Avicennia sp., Rhizophora sp. and Ceriop sp.). A total of 12 species recorded; among them 9 families and 11 genera. Salicornia sp., Suaeda nudiflora, Cressa cretica and Urochondra setulasa were recorded to be common here.

Threats to the Island:
Anthropogenic threats from increasing number of trawlers passing from nearby area. Fisherman community visits the island during fishing.
